| Audible and Visual Indicators Radio units provide the following audible/visual indications : Go-ahead tone. Call set-up in progress. Called party engaged in another call. Called party engaged in another call, call queue is too large to join, call terminated. Called party not obtainable. Network busy. Interface to other network/s not available. Call in progress has been pre empted. Incoming emergency call. | |
| Emergency Calls and Call Savers Emergency Calls are the highest priority of any calls that can be passed through the Fleetcall Trunking Network. Advantages over other calls can be summarised as follows : Always goes to the top of any queue. Can prematurely terminate a non emergency call to make way for it. Can invoke a different call duration timer. Top of the queue will ensure that the emergency call will be the next on channel, if that is all that is blocking it. If the called party is busy, then the call will be held until the called party clears. Pre-emptive clearing of non-emergency calls will attempt to remove any and all conflicts in the system that are preventing the progress of the emergency call. The Call Timer for any emergency call can be set to a different value than normal voice calls (currently set on the Fleetcall Network for 90 seconds). | |
| Direct Mobile Operation DMO is possible with certain of the terminal units used on the Fleetcall Network. (Simplex) | |
| Gateway to External Networks The Fleetcall Gateway provides TCP/IP routing of Status and Short Data Messages via the Internet. | |
| Numbering and Authentication Numbering is done according to MPT1327 protocol and is Fylde specific. Authentication of a unit is done according to the numbering system used on the network and only when a prefix and ident for a specific radio is loaded into the memory banks of the trunking system will it allow the use of the radio on the network. Electronic serial numbers are also used for authentication. It is also possible to allow PSTN/PABX interconnection on a per radio basis. | |
| System Management The system is owned and managed by Fleetcall. The Network provides for a comprehensive management, billing, call statistics, subscriber management and fault logging system. The central management system is located in Centurion. Fleetcall 24/7 Control Centre Telephone Number : 0860 123 159 | |
| Billing and Usage Reports Fleetcall has a fully functional billing system that provides : PSTN Billing Detail Reports This report contains detail of calls made from radios i.e. date, time, duration, number called and cost. Detail Air usage Reports This report reflects the airtime used by a fleet of radios. The individual radios' total number of calls and time is given in order that a deduction can be made when studying this report of who abuse and who do not use the radio. Types of calls can also be identified. | |
| Grade of Service Grade of Service is defined in MPT 1327 terminology. For instance a 10 % Grade of Service is defined as a service in which not more than 10 % of all calls made in the busy hour will queue for longer than 20 seconds. Call set-up times for local calls is typically 250 msec and for intersite calls are approximately 2 seconds. 95 % of all calls go through insimultaneously. Once the call set-up has been made, no delay after PTT is experienced. Call set-up and transmission for status calls and short data messages are approximately 250 msec. |
